Important Schedule Details
We have been informed that we can only perform serious emergency services, almost all Orthodontic services are not allowed until at least Thursday 4/30/20. This closure is in accordance with the recommendations from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the American Dental Association (ADA), and the Colorado Dental Association (CDA). We are as concerned about YOU and your orthodontic care! We want you to see what is possible for you to do at home. Please see and click on the pink "orthodontic emergency" button below for assistance. After trying these techniques, please let Dr. Patil know if you want his virtual assistance.
Please stay tuned to your SMS, email, Facebook, and Instagram for updates.
What is an Orthodontic Emergency? Guidance and Best Practices
On March 19, Gov. Polis issued an executive order to limit all treatment to emergency care to minimize the spread of COVID-19 and conserve PPE. An executive order has the force of law and is subject to criminal charges or legal action if not followed. In his order, he listed permitted surgeries or procedures.
Surgeries or procedures are permitted when there is:
A threat to the patient’s life
A threat of permanent dysfunction to an extremity or organ system
A risk of metastasis or progression of staging of a disease or condition or
A risk that the patient’s condition will rapidly deteriorate if the procedure or surgery is not performed. (Almost no Orthodontic services fall under this category)
You and/or your child’s health and wellbeing is our top priority, therefore Dr. Patil will be available for orthodontic emergencies.
We will not be rescheduling appointments until we are able to reassess the situation in the coming weeks. We will contact you to reschedule appointments and confirm those that can be kept.
As inconvenient as this will be, we are glad that orthodontic treatment plans generally do not experience significant changes nor delays over shorter periods of time.
Although these are uncertain times, I am confident that we will surmount this challenge. Thank you for being part of the Patil Orthodontic family. We will be eagerly awaiting seeing your smiling faces when we are back in the offices.
Stay Happy. Stay Healthy. Stay Safe.
